GSI Advanced Training Diploma for Practitioners of Structural Integration (May 2005)

The GSI's training course for Advanced Rolf Practitioners in 2005 is a six-week course developed by Dr. Rolf and her two senior teachers: Emmett Hutchins and Peter Melchior.

In addition to learning the advanced five-series Jill reviewed her skills in palpation and biomechanics; she deepened her understanding of the craft and philosophy of the ten-series, of energy and intention.

Jill advanced her own body through exchanging the advanced five-session series with another practitioner and applied her refined awareness in taking clients through the ten-series and the advanced five-series in class hours. Jill, a good friend of the co-tutor for the class, Nilce Silveira, took on additional private work after class.

Certified Advanced Practitioner of Integrated Energy Therapy (August 2003)

The Advanced Level of IET involves diagnosis of energy flow and treatment of energy blocks in the body's cellular memory and the associated human energy field. The advanced level developed the basic and intermediate level skills Jill had previously qualified in.

GSI Continuing Education Workshops

These explore "post-ten" work, using a three-session series as a context, working with other practitioners and clients. The topic of workshops is always Structural Integration and one's relationship to the practice and embodiment of the work. Participation in workshops is actively encouraged towards preparation for Advanced Training.

  • Four-handed workshop in Structural Integration (October 2006 (6 Day) and August 2000 (10 Day))

Four-handed means that two practitioners work in harmony through the body of the client. The effects of two practitioners working simultaneously, communicating through the body are far greater than the sum of two individuals working for their own goals.

  • Six day workshops (May 2003 and July 2001)

These workshops explored "post-ten" work, using a three-session series as a context, working with other practitioners and clients.

  • Six day workshop in movement education (March 2003)

The workshop focused on movement habits that inhibit the Rolf Line in motion and pattern recognition. Structural Integration and movement education were used in bringing clients and participants to greater awareness and change using a three-series.

GSI Basic Training Diploma for Practitioners of Structural Integration (May 2000)

Conducted over two phases, each one an intensive eight week course.

Phase I: Comprehensive tuition of Structural Integration theory, its fundamental principles, the history and development through the media of lectures and discussions. Students observe sessions to improve their ability to analyse structure and movement in gravity in preparation for practicing the craft in Phase II.

Phase II: Concentrates on manipulative instruction and practice. Under supervision, each student works with clients who receive the standard ten sessions of Structural Integration and exchange the ten sessions with a designated partner.

GSI Prerequisite Training Course (October 1999)

A comprehensive four week course combining in-class study and after-class practice. It encompasses an integrative approach to anatomy, physiology, massage and kinesiology followed by an introduction to myofascial work; concepts in body/mind unity, therapeutic relationship and ethical considerations.
